Göteborg Brinner is a brand-new one-day metal festival created by In Flames, taking place on August 22, 2026, at Frihamnen in Gothenburg, Sweden. Following the success of Borgholm Brinner and Dalhalla Brinner, this marks the next chapter in the band’s unique festival series, a homecoming celebration where metal returns to Gothenburg’s legendary harbor.

Yes. The event takes place outdoors in the industrial harbour area of Frihamnen. Please note that the second stage is located indoors and has limited capacity. Access is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Main Stage will be headlined by In Flames, joined by Avatar, Dark Tranquillity, and Raised Fist.
The Second Stage brings unrelenting energy from Thrown, Napalm Death, Gaerea, and Múr.

TRAM
From Gothenburg Central Station, take tram 12 from the nearby Drottningtorget or Nils Ericsonsplatsen stop to Jubileumsparken. You can also take tram 10 from Brunnsparken. The journey takes approximately 5–10 minutes, followed by a short walk to the festival entrance.

Frihamnen is easily accessible by bike via Gothenburg's cycle paths. The ride from Gothenburg Central Station takes approximately 8–10 minutes.

Frihamnen holds a special place in Gothenburg’s metal history. It was once home to the legendary Metaltown Festival, where In Flames performed an unforgettable hometown show in 2010, a performance so powerful that a nearby bridge began to sway, triggering alarms. That was the last metal show ever held at Frihamnen — until now.
